These Terms of Use govern your use of freecalculator.co.uk (the “Site”), operated by FreeCalculator (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
What we provide
FreeCalculator offers free online calculators and accompanying educational content about UK personal finance, including salary, tax, mortgages, loans, savings, stamp duty and pensions. The calculators run in your browser and are provided for general information and illustration only.
Not financial, tax or legal advice
The Site provides general information and estimates only. It does not constitute financial, tax, investment, mortgage or legal advice, and no client or advisory relationship is created by using it. Results depend on the figures you enter and on assumptions that may not fit your circumstances. Before making any financial decision you should check the latest figures with official sources such as GOV.UK and, where appropriate, seek advice from a suitably qualified and regulated professional.
Accuracy and availability
We take care to keep our calculations and rates accurate and up to date, citing our sources on each page. However, the Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the content is complete, current or error-free, or that the Site will be uninterrupted. Tax rules, interest rates and thresholds change, and there may be a delay before updates are reflected.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its calculators — including any financial decision made on the basis of a result. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Intellectual property
The Site’s content, design, branding and calculator implementations are owned by FreeCalculator or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, republish or redistribute substantial parts of the Site without our permission. Rate data itself is sourced from public bodies such as GOV.UK, which remain the authoritative source.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Site in any unlawful way or for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to, interfere with or disrupt the Site;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract content except as permitted by law; or
- misuse the Site in a way that could damage it or impair other users’ access.
Advertising and affiliate links
The Site is supported by advertising and may contain affiliate links. Adverts are served by third parties (see our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy). Where we include an affiliate link and you take out a product, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Such links are clearly labelled. Any promotion of a financial product is a signpost only and is not a personal recommendation or advice — always review the provider’s own terms before applying.
Third-party links
The Site links to third-party websites (such as GOV.UK and providers) for your convenience. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of those external sites.
Changes
We may update the Site and these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “last updated” date above will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the Site means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your place of residence provides otherwise.
